dinner with a stranger friend

I went 2 impromtu dinner tonight
After my class @ 11pm
@ the hungry cat
Downstairs from da loft
A fellow psychologist student
Called me as another fellow dropped me @ home

I answered with enthusiam
We talked....I walked up 2 da loft
Had some work 2 do b4 home, bed
10 minutes later she asks
Have u gotten a bite or still haven't had dinner?
Implying I ate @ the overpriced ghetto expensive shitty ass greasy
cafateria in the office building
How rude I thought

No I was just thinking about that
I replied slightly begrudgently
Do u wana grab a bite @ the cat
She responds
An excellent, nice resteraunt
One of my top five in hollywierd
La 4 that matter
She's totally won back my love

We make plans and meet 15 min later
Over a nice dinner and a cocktail
And an amazingly free, honest conversation
We bonded, thru her eyes I could see her soul
An amazing, brilliant, matuere, experiends soul
That she has

I'm going to santa barbra with her
Next weekend to look @ another school
And see a best friend of a prof.
To tour the town
3 days, 2 nights

She told me the school had rooms @ a motel
I told her I'd book the reservations and find
A more sophisicated place
After driving from texas 2 la
6 years ago...I vowed no more motels

They brought the check
I paid
Something I do that I really shouldn't
Can't afford like I used 2 b able 2
But everytime I'm reminded of

Ashleys dad
The man who helped me save my teenage life
And took me in

And I always thought so nice
Having a distant stranger friend
Buy you a meal
After good food, conversation, and a cocktail
Such good, honest, genrorous gesture
I thought

I still pay for meals
But have told myelf
4 the trip we split costs
